There are lot of reasons why people in England are confused, angry and fed up with immigration which of course allows certain people to ventilate their prejudices, but one must be allowed to criticise any policy including immigration without the automatic label of racist being attached to their views otherwise this just shuts down debate much like being labelled anti-psychiatry. England is a tiny country, yet it seems our political leaders over the past 25 years want it to become a kind of modern-day Alexandria. Unfortunately, research shows that with too much immigration people do not adopt or join the culture of the country they live in, forming ghettos and cultures within cultures.
ADHD is primarily, as Dr McLaren tell us most weeks, a failure of science (psychiatry and psychology as the self-designated sciences of the mind) to account for the phenomena correctly.
However people want to be diagnosed, they want a reason for they way the feel or behave they do and this can bring enormous relief initially, and of presumably some benefit financially (although maybe not), but possible the most opportune thing is relief of responsibility for the parent(s) as now they have a reason for the child's exhaustive behaviour, and they will be given extra attention at school for example or a personal teaching assistant (which of course children mainly love, probably as they don’t get enough attention at home). This then follows into adulthood where the demand for special attention does not cease, and I hypothesize that some adults like the drugs, especially the university students, which of course informs their studies and PhD projects to ensure more people are labelled, not less as you can now, literally make a career out of it.
Enter psychology, which, especially in the universities, implicitly supports psychiatry with its added stupidity of neurodiversity, which cannot shield individuals from psychiatric practices or polypharmacy (so much for psychology). Psychology is now actually driven by the fad of neurodiversity and as a largely feminine science, in my opinion, has become little more than astrology with brain scans/zapping and statistics, guided by intuition, narcissism and male professors who want docile students to not challenge them.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which has been mentioned here a few times is a prime example of this. Considered Bonafide in psychotherapeutic circles, not to mention expensive (I found private psychotherapists in England charging over £100 for a less than an hour session), it has no theoretical basis and develops not from scientific endeavour but based on a “hero’s journey” within a subject (psychology) without the demarcation criteria to fully denounce it, amounting to little more than a Purple Hat Therapy (paper by Rosen and Park 2026 reads easy to explain the bullshit behind EMDR, created by a "psychologist" of course).
That there are social and individual downsides to be a creative genius (Or just authentic creativity itself, let alone genius), has been known for at least 1000s of years in human communities.
The question therefore is if these should be classified as "ADHD", and potentially medicalised with addictive and dangerous drugs?
"My primary school in the country in West Australia many years ago had about 400 children"
Things are a lot different now. Check on the number of migrants, for example. People don't think the same way as, say, 60 years ago.

In Italy, Meloni wants to limit the number of migrants per class. A number of months ago, the Germans were wondering about what was the number [percentage] of migrants in a classrom that could lower academic achievement.
My point is that the allegedly pathological behaviour has only appeared in the past few decades so it's not genetic. There were about 10% immigrants of NESB, and 10% from the UK. The immigrants were generally better behaved than the locals. They knew that if they misbehaved at school, their parents would glom them.
Jose, are you serious man? "West Australia outback" will most likely include Oz Aboriginals - by FAR the oldest peoples and extant culture on the planet, combined in a classroom with modern global Anglo settler culture. If you can find a greater cultural contrast than this, which puts the 700 mile difference between say Italians and Syrians into the shade, I'd be interested to hear about it.
"Migrants" aren't much of a problem, in a well run and funded school, where the other kids are well behaved, not hungry or hyped, and not addicted to electronic devices.
"Science" all too often goes where the big money wants it to go, and gets the results depending on the questions chosen to be asked. When there is older, solider analysis and solutions being ignored, one will usually find some 'special interest groups' maneuvering for their own interests.
Migrants are a problem in Europe. I’ve been working in schools for almost 30 years. I know the reality back then and NOW. In Portugal, we got (around 5 years ago) 200 nationalities in the public school system.
Yay, i actually found one of your books in an actual bookstore.
I now can upgrade my mind without being strapped to a interwebscreen.

I have a child relative who has been diagnosed with ADHD. He is also a brilliant artist.
The two things could well be connected.
Yes, the connection is that society doesn't like people who think for themselves.

Science has evolved as well.

Sir, I am serious; though not dead.
