Josef Pieper - Abuse of Language, abuse of power, whoever speaks without commitment to the truth ceased to treat others as partners and instead treats them as objects to be manipulated. Good money in misery. “Antidepressant “ yeah right
Psychiatry needs to learn more from trauma-based intelligence - those who survived deep trauma with enhanced instead of reduced compassion - who else but the exoperienced can challenge a society established on centuries of abuse & trauma inflicted by psychopathy & psychosis?
Unfortunately the reality is a bit more subtle this approach. There are plenty of people who are empathic because they have had good lives, nothing has ever interfered with their capacity to put themselves in another's place. Similarly, we've all come across traumatised people whose only goal in life is to hit back at the world and make people suffer as they have. On the other side, there are people who have had nearly ideal early lives who turn into calm mass murderers (politicians, generals etc), and many traumatised people are able to reach others because they know the path through the many defences damaged people use. But you're right: society as a whole is psychopathic because the wrong people get themselves into positions of power. We need to address this point before it becomes our ruin.
I live with CCPTSD as a result of daily childhood trauma, which includes physical, psychological & emotionl abuse & CSA - you may find my insights & experiences of interest as shared here i.e. 'Why did I go mad?": https://odysee.com/@DeboranhMahmoudieh:e/SupernatruralOrNotYet:f
I feel the most difficult aspect of depression is the loneliness coupled with a sense of perpetual doom i.e. Nothing's going to change. Frustration is a key component too - not being believed, judged 'mad' or a 'liar' etc. Not once has anyone shown interest enough to explore my strange experiences as a reality humanity is missing out on because, like CSA, it's commonly ignored as 'dark'/negative or else, 'crazy'.
I believe it's possible that as a species we've lost connection to our collective 'higher-self precisely because we are programmed to perceive children as 'minor' humans, and that same judgement for centuries, applying to women, the poor & people of colour - a world founded on warped concepts of good & bad, crime & punishment, and right & wrong - all of which contributes to inflated ego & narcissism on strength of mass 'inferiority' complex.
Feel free to contact me for further confidential discussion.
