These posts explore the themes developed in my monograph, Narcisso-Fascism, which is itself a real-world test of the central concepts of the Biocognitive Model of Mind for psychiatry.
Good Article. I heard you telling elsewhere (Neutrality Studies ')about the lack of a model in psychiatry. Thus your Biocognitive Model of Mind.
Allow me to disagree on that. For long psychiatry had models by many authors (Charcot, Freud, Jung... Jaspers, etc etc). Still has. What is lacking is unification or articulation between these models, or techniques. A single theory, some would say.
Trump is a curious case. Even your terminology applied to politics (Narcissus-Fascism) is somehow psychoanalytic.
My view: despite all the dementia traits and signs, he's got moments of lucidity. We, the professionals, must help, that's our duty. Do you have any recommendation?
The various authors you mention are not taught in psychiatry today, their approaches are regarded as historical curiosities only even by the few psychiatrists who actually know their own history. The biocogitive model is the first integrative model of mind and body for psychiatry which gives an account of emergence of mind according to rational principles (Chalmers' "laws of supervenience")
As for Trump, yes, he's in early stages of dementia and it isn't yet total but his comment on MBS kissing his arse is absolutely typical of loss of judgement in early dementia. As is launching this terrible war even after being told Iran would close the Strait. Trump apparently told his Defence Chief that the navy could force it open again. That alone is enough. Everybody in US need to call their reps to tell them this because the information is being kept from the public.
